New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra is engaged to long time partner French sound engineer Arnaud Sabard pictured above on the cover of reputable magazine Womans Day. It is a sad day for so many New Zealand males who thought she was still single with her glamourous looks and voice of an angel. Westenra gained notoriety for singing at the Rugby World Cup 2011 final and her most recent New Zealand tour which went down like a lead balloon.
The greasy Frenchman and sound engineer Arnaud Sabard and her singing career are no doubt two reasons for spending most of her time in Europe these days.
Christchurch songbird Hayley Westenra is engaged to marry her longterm partner, according to a British report.
Westenra, 24, has been dating French sound engineer Arnaud Sabard for years, and the technician reportedly proposed to Westenra on a recent trip to New Zealand.
A family friend tells London's Evening Standard newspaper: ''Hayley and her Frenchman, Arnaud Sabard, came to stay for a couple of days and, exciting news, they became engaged.''
About to embark on her Paridiso tour in Britain, Westenra tweeted a photo of herself in a London studio laying down tracks today.
She has just returned to her London base after spending Christmas in Christchurch with her family.
Westenra was in Westfield Mall for the two strong December 23 earthquakes and tweeted ''2nd floor, Westfield Riccarton Mall: not the place to be in an earthquake!''.
She has not tweeted news of her engagement.
