I have noticed from my time with family in Sweden that people from Sweden can get away with wearing anything including one-piece tracksuits (which I didn't buy) and Bjorn Borg shoes (which I bought). There are heaps of summer sales on at great stores like Stadium and Inter Sport among heaps of other sales which included plenty of shoes. The Swedes have the style and slender body types to make heaps of retro sneakers and one-piece tracksuits look cool. I love these fashions, so was a happy chappy. There is even a One-Piece Tracksuit store! One thing that fires me up though is that you can't buy train tickets or lockers at heaps of stations in notes. You can pay coins or credit card and when you have the wrong credit card and you have the wrong currency or a currency like the Danish Krona where notes start at 20 Kronas (around $5 NZ) then it can be a nuisance to pay in coins.
I also find the fact that Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain use three different currencies and I was in these places all in one day on Monday. That took a bit of adjusting. The Euro makes it easier in some countries.
The key to life in Sweden revolves around eating a massive buffet or Swedish smorgasbord for lunch for not much more than buying sandwiches. It took me a while to get used to indulging at lunchtime. I guess you generally pace yourself and work it off in the afternoon.
The weather in Sweden was a mixed bag, but even I enjoyed shopping and Stadium and Inter Sport stores.
Because this weather was bad we never made a Swedish beach and it made it tough for me to compare the women in countries across my trip. It is hard to beat the stunning Croatian women, but the Swedish blondes are up there!
Wayne's Coffee is great for Wifi and everywhere, so I went there heaps.
My family is great, but it got rather inefficient and noisy to have 13 people including six children in the one house and travelling around after a while! It is usually easier in smaller groups, rather than waiting on different people or making decisions. It was great to know so many people though, we were the annoying family that dominated a Malmo - Stockholm train.
