Marist AFC - Women Jelly Wrestling

My football club Marist AFC Women's team are having a fundraiser on Saturday night with Jelly Wrestling. I never knew people still indulged in such pursuits. These type of activities are usually reserved for back street bars like the Newtown Sports Bar Tuesday night arm wrestling and other pursuits like wet t-shirt competitions, bikini car washes (there is sometimes one of those in Newtown) and housie? Anyway, it costs $10 to go and is on at 7pm on Saturday night at the Marist clubrooms in Kilbirnie. It could be an opportunity to witness and spread the gospel. I wonder if it is an elaborate hoax and there is really a budget or board meeting. They probably don't get many people attending, so it will boost numbers. There is always a variety of shapes in women's football teams, like mens where there are some burly central defenders and some petite central midfielders. It could make for some interesting viewing I guess, but most people in my team (me included) were wondering what the heck? It could be a great money spinner though at $10 per head and all it costs is the price of a pool and some jelly. All I can say is that I would've been very surprised if my last club Redemption FC hosted such an event, but it would actually have been quite funny if they did!
